Remembering Megan

This week marks two years since my older sister, Megan passed away. It has been a hard week for my family and I. I have been doing a lot of thinking, and remembering. I was looking through some old stuff, and I found a poem that Megan had written to me when I was about 9. Here's what she wrote:

As I read that, it brought tears to my eyes, as I can echo, to her, the very words that she wrote to me, years ago.
So, I will do just that:
Megan, Megan

I am your best and biggest fan!

The word is dull and mad without you.
You are great and have a heart that is true.

You are an example of the Lord.
You wear the shield, armor and sword.

Now, I bid you goodnight, and have a good rest.
I love you, my sister, you are the best!
I love you, my sister. You are the best.

A fun Halloween memory. Picking pumpkins at the Vanlentine's house in Colorado.

Looking forward to the upcoming holiday season, and remembering ones in past.

Backwards Clothes

Our cute little Aspen is very much her mother's daughter. Given a 50/50 shot at getting her pants (any clothes, for that matter) on right, she ALWAYS puts them on backwards. I can relate...I do this, too. I, many a time, have walked out the door with my tag poking out my neck. Another example of this, is if you ever look at Ace's shoes, and notice that they are on the wrong feet. When the child is 22 months old, you know that it no one's fault but their parent's...in this cas, mine!
Anyway, here are a few pictures that are proof of this strange phenomenon. They were taken Yesterday and today. (I'm sure it will happen again tomorrow!)

Yard Work

The other day, Adam was moving some dirt in the yard. Not long after he began, I looked out the window, and noticed that he had some helpers. I just grabbed my camera and began snapping away. It was just too precious to pass up! Aussie and I were just hangin out!

St George Marathon 2008

We did it! This last saturday, Adam and I ran our first marathon. We went down south to St. George, expecting nice weather. In stead, it rained the entire time. Not to mention, 20 mph head winds. We both finished, and know now that we need to train better next time. Adam signed us up for the 2009 runners series, so we are in it for next year!

Adam finished in 2:55

Arianne finished in 3:34

9 Goals! Who does that?!

We've put Anderson on a soccer team because ever since he was 3, he's wanted to play on a soccer team just like his dad. So we told him that when he turned 4, he could play.
Anyway, he is one of the very youngest on his team, and, of course, the shortest. That hasn't stopped him. His first game he scored 3 goals, then 2, then 4, and this last game, he scored 9 goals! Who does that?
