I must be crazy...

So, the question of the day is, if you are told you're crazy nearly every day for 2 consecutive weeks, does it mean that you ARE?! I'm beginning to wonder...

When asked what I do for a living--"You teach preschool?! You must be CRAZY!"

While mowing the lawn--"You're mowing the lawn, and you're pregnant?! You must be CRAZY!

"While standing in line for a 4th of July 5k, other competitor's eyes immediately shift to by pregnant belly. "You're running this, and you're pregnant?! You must be CRAZY!"

When asked what number baby this is for me: "5 kids?! You must be CRAZY!"

(Well, not quite the Duggars, but that's what I feel like sometimes.)

Because I still look like I am 15 years old, I first get the crazy and uncomfortable look from people, followed by the question of how old my oldest is--"5 kids in 5 years?! You must be CRAZY!"

(Sorry, but this is my most recent picture of myself. I get asked all the time if they are my siblings. It won't be such a bad thing when they are older, but when you're asked if a 5-year old is your little brother, it is a bit offensive!)

(With kids as cute as this, why not have more?!)

My answer to them is, if being happy means that I must be CRAZY, then bring on the CRAZY!

I love teaching preschool! It allows me to use the creative side of my brain, while satisfying my need to always have little kids around!

I also love to mow the lawn! Yes, ask Adam--it is true. I will mow the lawn in the middle of the day so I can beat Adam before he gets home from work. Not to mention, it drowns out other noises ;)!

Everyone knows I love to run. When told that I'm crazy for doing it, my response is always, "it is what keeps me SANE!"

Now as for the kids. When asked why so many, it is like asking me why would I want more happiness? When asked why so close, I say why not?

So, call me CRAZY if you want to, but I will consider it a compliment!

Happy Birthday, Anderson!

It was five years ago that Anderson entered the word. He was a perfect baby boy (aside from his webbed toes, but they are adorable!) Both Adam and I were so excited to have our first baby, and I can say that we were both very ready.
He is helpful, kind, courteous...(sounds like a good future scout!) He is everything that parents could ask for in a son, and a wonderful older brother! We are so glad that he is in our family!
Happy Birthday, Anderson! We love you!

Here are a few pictures from his birthday party. (They are blurry because Adam was taking them while holding a wiggly baby.) I was soaked because most of the kids knew me from preschool, and thought that they could attack me with the sprinkler, which they did! It was a fun day!

The Other day I took the kids to the Animal Farm in Lehi. I used to do it all the time, but since i started teaching preschool, I haven't had the time. Now that the summer is here, I couldn't wait to get the kids out!
They had so much fun feeding the animals, riding the horses, and just walking around. Afterward, I took them to the park to eat a "hot n' ready" pizza, and to swing of course! I was thinking that all swing sets at parks only have 4 swings. That will be a problem...
Anyhow, it was a great day, and I can't wait to do it again!

Digging holes for trees

A few weeks ago we bought some trees that our city was selling. They were an awesome deal, as we got three of them, two of which were already taller than our house. And we got them for $65 each! Killer deal! Anyhow, of course with trees that size, you have some megga holes to dig. Luckily we had helpers...

n
Notice the size of Ace's shovel. Too cute!

Of course you have to jump in the holes! What else is a hole good for?

And, if you're wondering about the trees, they are planted, and look great! Thanks Adam, Ace and Aspen! (Anderson was too busy playing Lego's, we'll forgive him anyway!)

Sleep wherever and whenever

"When you're tired, you're tired," I always say. So why not pull up a piece of couch or floor and take a nap? Heck why not sneak into bed with mom, when she doesn't even know it?

Here's Aussie sleeping sound fully on the couch. Here's Ace also on the couch (a popular place, no doubt!)
Aspen was so tired that she grabbed a blanket and crashed on the floor.Adam sneakily took this shot the other day. I had no idea!

Sorting Beads

The other night I was sorting beads for a project we were doing for preschool the next day. It was a LONG and TEDIOUS task until....

Helpers Came!

Even Ace caught on, and did a great job. They were all great helpers, and it turned out to be a lot of fun!

5 Reasons Why the Number 5 is the Best Number

Many times, you hear phrases like "3's the Magic Number," and "Lucky Number 7." Nowhere do you hear anything about the number 5. So I am going to make my own lilst.

1. We all have 5 fingers on each hand

2. We all have 5 toes on each foot

3. We don't give a high-4, we give a high-5!4. Our Nation's finest president is on the 5-dollar-bill

5. The Jackson 5!...
...Well, maybe not...how about....

The Brown 5!
Coming October 2009

There's still room on the couch, right...or maybe on a lap!
